Sysadmin-as-a-Service for SMBs that can't afford an in-house IT team

You have between 20 and 200 employees, an infrastructure that "works" but keeps you up at night, and an in-house "IT person" who is actually "the password guy." I take over the hard parts: 24/7 monitoring, disciplined patching, verified backups with restore tests, L2/L3 support when something blows up. Fixed monthly retainer — no surprises.

01 When it makes sense

02 What's included

Proactive 24/7 monitoring
Zabbix or PRTG configured to enterprise standards, smart alerting (not spam), dashboards with business metrics, not just technical ones.
Disciplined patch management
Windows & Linux, servers & workstations, monthly on a planned cycle with approved windows. Ansible or WSUS for automation. No more missed critical updates.
Backup with restore testing
Veeam or PBS, multi-tier (local, offsite, offline), monthly restore test on at least 2 critical VMs. An untested backup is not a backup.
On-demand L2/L3 support
Incidents, problems, change requests — prioritized tickets, SLA-backed response, clear escalation. Remote-first, on-site when needed.
Active Directory administration
Users, groups, GPO, DNS, DHCP, certificates, documented onboarding/offboarding process. Regular cleanup of stale accounts.
Monthly health check & review
Monthly 4-6 page report: events, patches applied, backups tested, problems resolved, recommendations. 1h meeting with stakeholders.

Transparent about capacity
For service quality, I take a maximum of 3-5 active retainer clients at the same time. I'm not a ticket factory — I know you, your team, and every server/switch/VM personally. If you want large scale, I can connect you with trusted partners.

06 FAQ

What happens if I exceed the included hours?
Reported transparently each month. Overage billed at a preferential rate (€65/hour vs. €85/hour for non-retainer). I let you know before exceeding, not after.
Can I change the package?
Yes, month by month. Minimum commitment is 3 months at the start (for environment stabilization), then rolling contract with 30-day notice.
What tooling do you use?
Monitoring: Zabbix or PRTG. Backup: Veeam or Proxmox Backup Server. Patching: Ansible, WSUS, apt/dnf. Ticketing: Jira Service Management or yours. SIEM (if included): Wazuh open-source.
Do you have documented GDPR/DPA?
Yes. Framework contract with DPA included, description of technical & organizational measures (TOM), logged access and audit-ready. I've been doing this for legal and medical clients for years.
How do you respond to after-hours incidents?
For SLA 8x5 — next business day. For 12x5 — by 8 PM same day. For 24x7 — direct phone, on-call, immediate prioritization. For each tier, the escalation path is clear and documented.
